Kind of a side-scroller Travel: up into the clouds down into the earth’s crust as well as to the left and right. Explore levels Mario style, deciding whether to travel the path leading up, down, left, or right. (But being able to go back and play other paths)
Players control an exploring a map of simple levels. Different paths may lead to different characters who provide a story for their path Perhaps different weapons can be collected on different paths, maybe they are more effective on enemies of the path you are on or another one?
Enemies could vary in weakness, appearance, or any other way based on path Each path could potentially have it’s own simple boss
