Why Care for your Clothes? They last longer; They maintain their shape better; and You have them clean to wear whenever you want to.

4. Read laundry product labels to determine how much you should use. How Do You Do It? 1.Sort your clothing. Steps to Washing your Clothes: 2.Check clothes for stains or things in pockets. 3. Zip zippers and button buttons.

5.Fill washing machine and add products. 6. Add clothing but do not overload it. 7. Remove clothing once it is finished to prevent wrinkling. 8. Put your clothing in the dryer or line dry it. Steps to Washing Clothes (Cont’d)

How Do I Sort my Clothes???? Color: Lights Whites Brights Darks

Sorting (Cont’d) Fabric Delicate fabrics should be washed with other delicate fabrics. You would not put a silk shirt in the wash with blue jeans. Lint Do not mix lint receivers (ie: polyester & nylon) with lint givers (ie: terrycloth & flannel) if you do not separate these articles you will have balls of fuzz all over your clothes.

Sorting (Cont’d) Soil Very dirty clothes should be kept separate from other items in the wash to keep them from getting dirty. Size Bulky items should be washed on their own so that they can be cleaned most effectively.

Now It’s Your Turn! Create the two loads of laundry based on dark and light colors out of the pictures you are given. On your sheet, write the number of the garment under the basket you would put it in if you were sorting this load of laundry. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

So What About the Dress??? Because this dress is so formal and has such detail on it, it must be dry-cleaned and therefore cannot be washed with just any load of laundry. 8
