13 Appendix A UPS Front Panel Indicators » Load - % of UPS power used by load (17%, 33%, 50%, 67% & 85%) AVR Trim – UPS compensating for high utility voltage Online – UPS supplying utility power to the load AVR Boost – UPS compensating for low utility voltage Power On – Press and release. Turns the UPS “ON” Power Off – Press and release. Turns the UPS “OFF” Overload – Overload Condition. The UPS emits a sustained alarm tone. On Battery – UPS supplying battery power to connected equipment. Replace Battery – Battery failure. UPS emits short beeps for one minute. Battery Charge – Present charge of the UPS battery. (0%, 40%, 60%, 80% & 100%). When all five LED’s lit, UPS battery is fully charged.

14 Appendix B UPS Battery Replacement 1. Face the front of the UPS to remove the bezel. Use both hands and grasp the finger clips on either side of the bezel. Pull toward you. The bezel will unsnap. Set the bezel aside 2. Use a screwdriver to remove the two battery door screws and open the door (hinged panel). Set the screws aside in a safe place. You will replace them later. 3. To disconnect the battery, take out the white cord that is tucked into the space above the battery. This cord serves as a handle for the connector. Grasp the cord and pull firmly toward you. 4. Be careful during this step—the battery module is heavy. Pull the battery module out of the UPS by pulling the clear label, not the white cord. 5. Install the replacement battery by following the above directions in reverse order.

15 Appendix C Procedures qmon - Seismic Equipment State of Health To determine whether or not the high resolution digitizers in the vault (or at the wellhead) are sending data to the station computer, do the following; At the login prompt on the station computer keyboard, type the usr name and followed by the password and. Usr name = ________ : Password = ___________ At the prompt, type qmon followed by The monitor screen should now look like the display above. Normal operation of the digitizer q will show the Data Port 1 Data Sent counter incrementing. Press the  key. This will toggle the display and show the q digitizer status. Normal operation of digitizer q will show the Data Port 1 Data Sent counter incrementing. Type quit to exit qmon You should have the prompt displayed at the bottom of the screen. logout of the station computer by typing logout.

16 Appendix C (cont’d) Procedures Rebooting, Cycling Power & turning off the Stealth Station Computer Turning off the Station Computer: –Note, if you need to turn off the computer, first execute the shutdown procedure by logging in as user nrts and executing the following command; – sudo init 0 Cycling Power & Rebooting the Station Computer –To Reboot – Type the command sudo shutdown -r now –To Cycle Power – Type the command sudo shutodown -h now [ lots of messages will now scroll down the screen] Power to the Stealth can be removed when the following messages are displayed, “The operating system has been halted” “Press any key to reboot” Once the power cord is disconnected, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the Stealth.
