Why Red Angus Genetics?  Superior maternal traits  Crossbreeding advantages  Promotional tools  Red Angus Association

Superior Maternal Traits  Moderate framed, easy calving and easy fleshing  Early puberty cattle that do not need excessive nutrients and management to calve on time as two-year-olds  Red angus are efficient, and are known for their milking ability, fertility and longevity  Ideal carcasses

Crossbreeding advantages  Red Angus are especially well suited for Rotational systems due to their balance of cow herd building traits with end product traits.  The cumulative effect of fertility, calving ease, optimal milk flow, fleshing and foraging ability, longevity, and low maintenance costs make Red Angus the obvious choice for any breeder.  Quiet dispositions that research has shown that mild disposition cattle have higher average daily gains.  Red hides for reduced summer heat stress.

Promotional Tools  Pro-Cow Promoting the maternal benefits of their Red Angus Sired Replacements. Expanding marketing opportunities for the female half of their calf crop.  Feeder Calf Certification Program (FCCP) The Red Angus Association conducts certified Red Angus feeder calf sales across the country. Traceability to at lest 50% Red Angus Bloodlines Source verified to Ranch of Origin Group age verified

Red Association: Leader of Performance Movement  Open A.I Unrestricted within the Red Angus breed  Promotion of Crossbreeding  Open Registry and Performance Data  Focus on Commercial Customers Offers a wide range of services designed to enhance the profitability of producers utilizing Red Angus genetics in their commercial operations.  Total Herd Reporting  Evaluating Fertility  Genotype Certification FCCP – Feeder Calf Certification Program  Value Based Marketing Offers members and commercial customers a value-based pricing grid with a major packing company.

Summary “There are many reasons for using Red Angus genetics. From maternal traits to crossbreeding advantages. Also, there are promotional tools that include the Pro-Cow and FCCP programs. And last but not least, in using Red Angus genetics, the Red Angus Association has an abundance of useful information to help breeders utilize premium genetic sources and maximize profits.” Payton Fehringer
