J1 Hospitality Internship / Trainee Program

Overview The Hospitality Internship Program was designed to: Provide young professionals the opportunity to gain practical work experience in an international environment, whilst working in a world-class hotel or resort in the USA. Internships are paid Placements are in 4* or 5* establishments Placements can either be rotational or within a specific department, depending on your needs. OVC will match your hospitality, culinary or tourism management background with one of the 4* or 5* properties in our portfolio of host companies.

Eligibility Must be full-time Hospitality/Culinary/Tourism student or within 12 months of graduation OR Have at least 5 year’s relevant work experience outside of the United States Proficient in English 21 – 36 years old Must have $1500 maintenance funds available Prior employment experience is an advantage if you are a student

Program fee includes Setting up of interviews Applicant placement at carefully screened host company J1 visa sponsorship and issuing of DS 2019 forms Orientation Health & travel insurance 24 hour support while in the USA

How to apply Contact nearest OVC office They will send you a RESUME TEMPLATE to complete and a T&C to sign Pay your R2,500 deposit (which is fully refundable if OVC are unable to secure an interview within 2 months) Send OVC your passport + proof of qualification / current enrolment As soon as OVC has a possible interview we will call you with the details Placements can take 2-6 months (average being 2 months)
