North of Smokey oprogram2013/ oprogram2013/ Rural Isolated Girls Grades 7, 8 & 9 Goal 3: Programs & Activities Strategy -Increase rural/isolated community-based After School Time Period programming by participating in NS After the Bell Program ensuring youth are physically active, eating healthy, reducing transportation, targeting Junior High Gr 7,8 & 9 females -After-school After the Bell Funding assisting schools / community groups offering programs & events Free

North of Smokey Partners for Health Just as the research proved, they would rather go home, didn't want to participate, less and less - NOT WANTING TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ACTIVITY regardless of transportation, equipment, facilities, etc. Lack of mindset/motivation, not going to do it for anyone, unless take them to the mall to go shopping/movies

North of Smokey Tommy Chubbs (Teacher) “Noticed those girls who are not normally active, now active and was impressed by the impact of the program”. Leaders, parents, teachers, principal Donnie Simms & Coordinator Jena Taylor noticed a difference in participating levels that do not normally participate that were now participating. Yoga, Zumba, Hip Hop dance, Classical ballet dance, Learn to kayak, ocean kayak, cycling, cheerleading & Aerobics, social and presentation of hoody’s for participants who participated in minimum number of activities. ACTIVITIES
