Headings Formula (Cell Data) Help Dialogue A brief review from lesson 1
Opening the Help dialogue Window
Enter your keyword “IF” Click on search, then choose the Topic IF Worksheet Function
Help information for writing an “IF” statement
We will be using example three. Please read carefully!
We will be placing the “IF” statement in cell K4 Insure the Blank column has no data in its cells. If there is delete it.
Type in the “IF” statement as you see above in cell K4. Data needs to be entered very carefully or the formula won’t work. Excel will run a logical test on the statement to determine its validity.
Another way to enter a formula or function statement is to click on the insert Function “fx”. Make sure the cell the function is to be placed in is selected
The above dialogue box will show up if your statement has errors. Excel is somewhat intuitive and may make a suggestion for correcting the error.
The letter “B” should be displayed in cell K4 if your statement is correct. You can know use the drag function to place the formula into the remaining cells
Lovely job. See you next session. When we will meet Mean, Median and Mode
