© VYKON 2011 Sedona TXS 1.1 New Features and Benefits February, 2012

The Sedona Framework™ is the industry's first open source development framework. It brings the power of programmable control and the Internet down to extremely inexpensive devices. The Sedona Framework allows manufacturers to easily and quickly build their own device to internet applications that integrate seamlessly with Niagara AX rather than having to build their own applications or use the complex and difficult embedded programming tools that exist today. Sedona TXS 1.1 offers several new features to make deploying Sedona devices easier for system integrators. Sedona Framework - Introduction

Sedona Framework TXS 1.1 – What’s New? Supported with Niagara AX Framework 3.6 or later New Licensing Structure for Sedona Network Drivers –JACE JN (JenNet wireless) and Ethernet/Wi-Fi –Supervisor Ethernet/Wi-Fi –Separate Networks for JN Wireless and Ethernet/Wi-Fi in stations SOX Tunneling - Allows Remote access to Sedona Networks –Supported for all Sedona Driver Networks CHoPAN Communication – Peer-to Peer communications –JN Wireless Only PAN Visualization – Troubleshoot / optimize wireless networks –JN Wireless Only Kit Manifest Manager – Manage and download kits for Sedona Devices –Niagara and Sedona Framework Workbenches Separate Sedona Bundle Download/Install for Vykon Workplace AX (no charge) Sedona Framework Workbench 1.1 –Stand alone workbench for Sedona Devices –Support for Ethernet/Wi-Fi, and JN Wireless Sedona networks –USB JN Wireless Device Sedona JN Wireless Option Card –JACE platforms (JACE 2,6,7 Option slot)

Sedona JN Wireless Networks Uses the NXP Jennnic Chip set and JenNet-IP protocol stack Based on the IEEE Standard –Co-exists with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Uses the 6LoWPAN network layer. –6LoWPAN is an acronym for IPv6 over Low power Wireless Personal Area Networks Sedona JN Wireless Option card or USB adaptor is configured as Network coordinator node for other devices that use the NXP Jennic Chip set with JenNet- IP protocol stack

Sedona Network Driver Licensing SOX Communication Driver for Niagara AX 3.6 or later Ethernet/Wi-Fi –JACE Unlimited point and device count (limits are based on performance, not licensing. Consult the application guide for the Sedona devices you are using.) –Supervisor Initial 1000 point count base license 500 point add-on licenses Sedona JN Wireless –JACE 2/6/7 Option Card Required Unlimited point and device count

How to Order - Sedona Workbench Parts PartDescription V-SED-WB Sedona Framework Workbench. Used to program, commission, and provision Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Jennic devices. Sedona USB device (ordered separately) required for direct connection to Jennic wireless devices. SED-USB Sedona JN USB device for use with Sedona workbench to configure Jennic Wireless networks directly. (Not using the SOX tunnel through a JACE station) Sedona Workbench License is included with Vykon Workplace AX

Installing Vykon Sedona Workbench (Does not run in the WorkPlace AX environment) 1.Download Vykon Sedona Workbench 1.1 from Niagara Central – Save to your local drive

Installing Vykon Sedona Workbench 2.Extract the Files from the Downloaded Zip File 3.Run Setup to Install the Workbench

Installing Vykon Sedona Workbench 4.Follow the Installation Instructions 5.Launch the Vykon Sedona Workbench from your desktop or start menu (depending upon what you selected during the install process). Follow instructions for licensing.

Installation and Licensing for WorkPlace AX (Adding the Sedona workbench features to your existing Workplace AX) 1.Download Sedona Framework Bundle TXS 1.1 from Niagara Central

Installation and Licensing for WorkPlace AX 2.Install Sedona Framework TXS 1.1 package using the WorkPlace AX Sedona Installer Tool

Installation and Licensing for WorkPlaceAX 3.Import a new license using the Workbench License Manager

Migrating Sedona 1.0 to 1.1 Niagara AX 3.4 and 3.5 stations containing Sedona Networks are not compatible with Niagara AX 3.6. To upgrade existing Niagara AX 3.4 or 3.5 stations with Sedona networks to Niagara AX 3.6 or later, the existing Sedona networks must be updated using the Niagara AX Station Migration Tool. Stations with a single type of Sedona device (Jennic Wireless, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi) can be migrated following the instructions for the Station Migration Tool. If multiple types of Sedona devices exist on a station, the existing station must be duplicated and edited so that each station copy contains only one type of Sedona device in order to use the Station Migration Tool. The tool can then be used to migrate all station copies. The user will then need to manually copy networks from the multiple migrated stations into one station. The alternative is to manually rebuild the multiple networks in a new station. The appropriate Sedona driver(s) must be purchased for Niagara AX 3.6 or later stations.

Migration Steps 1.Copy the station database (config.bog) from the AX-3.5 (or earlier) JACE, and paste it into the station’s folder in the AX-3.6 (or later) Workbench enabled for Sedona Framework TXS From that Workbench computer, open a Niagara console window. For example, from Windows: Start > All Programs > Niagara AX 3.6.n > Console Or, from the normal Workbench menu: Window > Console 3.Enter the following command: nre sedonanet:com.tridium.sedonanet.migrate.MigrateBog [path\to\config.bog] From the default Niagara console prompt, the following command is entered: nre sedonanet:com.tridium.sedonanet.migrate.MigrateBog stations\SedJenTest\config.bog. 4.The command executes and the new migrated config.bog file will be in the same location. The original config.bog file is renamed “preMigrate_config.bog”, and is also in the same location. 5.After migrating the station, run the platform Commissioning Wizard) to upgrade the station to AX 3.6, and select the “Install Station” step to reinstall the converted station. Refer to the NiagaraAX Station Migration Tool Engineering Notes for Details
