2. EXPERIENCE AND DISCOVER Our research is based on metropolitan France, 2012 Unemployement: when a person is able and willing to work but does not have a job 9.9% Unemployment rate: 9.9% in metropolitan France The most affected categories are women and young people: 24.2% Youth unemployment rate for ages is 24.2% in metropolitan France 82% 82% of young working people are on temporary contracts. Unemployment among the educated is getting worse while employers are crying out for computer technicians, electricians, plumbers and other skilled labour. 40% drop-out in the first year of university. 3. EXPERIENCE AND DISCOVER Charges for social benefits are too high. Temporary contracts, job cuts Too many high school students are guided to general studies as a defaut choice by their parents or guidance counselors Often, students don’t learn the skills that employers need Technical jobs and studies have a bad image among parents and students.

4. EXPERIENCE AND DISCOVER EFFECTS AND CONSEQUENCES OF YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT Reduction of consumption and purchasing power Growing deficit of social services Economic Social Unemployment Social isolation Giving up Criminality

5. OUR SOLUTION OUR TARGET GROUP Inform about possible studies Inform about the numerous possible studies and job prospects. Encourage technical studies. Give better advice about their capacity to achieve these studies. Give motivation. Show the reality of the working world Make students experience working life. Encourage entrepreneurship HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

OUR SOLUTION OUR PLAN OF WORK Include internships:  3 internships on 3 different school years  3 sectors  3 internship with presentation in class  The possibility to do an internship in another sector if they feel like they failed the first. Organize meetings with older young adults:  2 meetings with university students  15 students per meeting  1 meeting with young entrepreneurs Follow-up with university students.

OUR SOLUTION TIMELINE 3e3e 1 internship in commercial, industrial or farm-producing sector (2 weeks) 1 meeting with university students 2nde 1 internship in current studies related sector (1 month) 1ere 1 internship in current studies related sector (1 month and a half) 1 meeting with young entrepreneurs Term 1 meeting with university students From 3 e to Terminale (9th to 12th grade)

8. OUR SOLUTION MEASURES OF SUCCESS INTERNSHIPS Every high school student has the choice of 1, 2 or 3 internships MEETINGS Every high school student has the choice of 1, 2 or 3 meetings and can choose the subject. Small groups (15 students)

OUR SOLUTION OUTCOMES Less students dropping out during the first year at university or in high school More highschool students knowing what type of job they want to do Highschool students become more aware of job opportunities and participate in deciding their future RESULTS The quantity of young people with diploma and/or with work experience will increase and will better meet the needs of employers.

OUR SOLUTION TIME SPENT AND PEOPLE INVOLVED 10 HIGH SCHOOLS NEAR PARIS 20,000 highschool students reached 3 one-day meetings 3 months of internship 1500 university students needed 1000 entrepreneurs 1 meeting 3 hours per month follow-up mentoring 7,000 companies, public institutions, etc. Granted tax benefits
