i-Visto (internet video studio system for HDTV production) Harada Yoshiaki

Introduction i-Visto is the world ’ s first IP-based, multi-rate, real-time video transmission and archiving system via ultra-high speed networks. Because i-visto uses general-purpose computer and IP/computer technique, system is constructed economically.

i-Visto media camera The i-Visto HDTV camera is an innovative HDTV camera with direct connectivity to an IP network. It can be controlled from remote sites via an IP network.

i-Visto gateway i-Visto gateway provides protocol conversion between HD-SDI/SDI and IP, integrating all the infrastructures into optical IP networks. It supports multicast, IPv4/v6 and multiple IP transmission.

i-Visto media converter Conversion from HDTV (1080/59.94i) to SDTV (NTSC) is available. It is easy to extend its functions by upgrading softwares.

i-Visto manager we are able to control i-Visto products from multiple remote sites connected to an IP network since the i-Visto manager provides a WWW-based interface for the controlling terminals. Because it uses simple grafical user interface, we can set up the transmitting and receiving easily.

i-Visto media server i-Visto media server stores and delivers video streams at various bit rates including 1.5-Gbps uncompressed HDTV video through an IP network. We can easily retrieve stored scene by using meta-data.

i-Visto switch i-Visto switch supports unicast, multicast, broadcast and loopback transmission. It ’ s performance is up to 16 SONET / SDH network interfaces (155 Mbps / 622 Mbps / 2.4 Gbps). It have Gbps capacity by using cross- bar switching backplane.

summary Video materials can be transmited without degradation and delay. We can integrate network composed of each media. Simple network help us to cut cost to support and manage network.
