Nominate Potential New Leaders for Senate Leadership Retreats Seek Nominations for Committee Assignments from the Senate as a Whole. Encourage senators to reach out to faculty with leadership potential as well as established leaders. New Faculty Orientation Assign Mentors to Newly Hired Faculty Avoid Overuse of Acronyms and Other Technical Language Establish Formal Successor Structures Such as Senate President-Elect.

BUILDING DIVERSITY Consider Term Limits or Committee Rotation Systems Establish a Faculty Diversity Internship Program Seek Nominations for Committee Assignments from the Senate as a Whole. Encourage senators to reach out to and include underrepresented faculty.
