Essay 4 Write a 5 paragraph narrative essay using one of the following prompts below: Describe your first day at Bogle Junior High. Give enough explanation in your story that describes the emotions, expectations and details of your first day. Describe a trip or an adventure that you and your family has taken. Give enough details in your story to show what it was like and what made it so special.

Essay 5 Write a 5 paragraph narrative essay using one of the following prompts below: Describe who your hero is. Talk about who that individual is, what makes them a hero and how they have impacted your life. If you could go back in time to any time period, what time period would it be and why? Be sure to include what makes that time period so special to you and what fascinates you about it.

Essay 6 Write a 5 paragraph narrative essay using the prompt below: Write a letter to your future self. Your letter must be at least FOUR paragraphs and have a minimum of eight sentences each. The following topics are suggestions for each of your paragraphs.

Paragraph 1 Describe yourself at this point in time. What is your personality like? What are your likes and dislikes? Who are your closest friends? Why? How do you like to spend your leisure time? What do you consider to be your strengths? What would you like to improve or change about yourself?

Paragraph 2 What were your first impressions of junior high? What are the other students like – 7th and 8th grade? What is the campus like? How about your teachers and classes? Have you had any disappointments at this point? If so, how do you think you could remedy the situation? Have you been particularly impressed by anyone or anything? At this point, is there anything you would change about Bogle, if you could? What would you change and why?

Paragraph 3 Knowing what you know in your first week as a BJHS student, what are your expectations for the remainder of the school year and for next year in 8th grade? What are your academic goals (try to be more specific than just “get good grades”)? What skills or areas do you need to work on? What social goals do you have for this year, next year and for the future? What clubs or social activities would you like to participate in? Why? How do you plan to accomplish these goals? What might get in the way of your efforts and how could you avoid these challenges?

Paragraph 4 To close your letter, give yourself a little “pep talk.” If you could encourage yourself as you move into the remainder of the year and next year, what would you say?
