TODAY IN GEOMETRY… Warm Up: Major and Minor Arcs Learning Target : 10.3 You will use relationships of arcs and chords in a circle. Independent practice
WARM UP: Identify the arcs as a minor, major or semicircle. Then given the measurement of the arcs.
PROPERTIES OF CHORDS(3)
PROPERTIES OF CHORDS(1): In the same circle, or in congruent circles, two minor arcs are congruent if and only if their corresponding chords are congruent.
EXAMPLE:
PRACTICE:
PROPERTIES OF CHORDS(2): If a diameter of a circle is perpendicular to a chord, then the diameter bisects the chord and its arc.

PROPERTIES OF CHORDS(3): If two chords are congruent, then they are equidistant from the center.
