He Comes

Psalms 118:26 “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”

Blessed בָּרַך ( bārak) to kneel, bless, praise, salute To bless in the ot means “to endue with power for success, prosperity, fecundity, longevity…” Genesis 24:11 And he made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water. בֶּרֶך ( berek) knee.

Gimel

Aaronic Benediction Numbers 6: And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: 24 “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” ’ 27 “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”

John 13: 1-12 … 3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him… 12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Aaronic Benediction Numbers 6: “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” ’

Ps118: 26 Ps118: 26 “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD…”

Psalms 118:26 ברוך הבא בשם יהוה ברכנוכם מבית יהוה׃

Ba ב בשם Ba: what is meant…  In  with, among, of, upon, on, at, into, by  “of”, “consisting of”, i.e., “a marker of substance”

of a state or condition, whether material or mental, in which an action takes place: so בְּשָׁלוֹם in peace Gn 15:15 ; בַּצָּרָה ψ 81:8 בְּצָ׳ 91:15 in distress; הָלַךְ בְּתֻמּוֹ to walk in his integrity Pr 28:6; Ex 5:19 בְּרָע in evil case.

Mark 11:7-10 (see also Zechariah 9:9) 7 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. 8 And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ 10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

Isaiah 62:11wow Indeed the Lord has proclaimed To the end of the world: “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.’ ”

Psalms 118:26 ברוך הבא בשם יהוה Blessed is He who comes with the name YHWH

Hosana 12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”

Zechariah 9:9 9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.

John 12: Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: 15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

What is the Charge Psalms 118:26 “…From the house of the LORD we bless you.”

Why? So why do we bring up the phrase Ps118:26 and Matthew 21:9 in a conversation concerning serving one another and those yet to be called into His church… Because of Psalms 118: God is the Lord, And He has given us light; Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. 28 You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You.

We will Finish like the Psalmist does Psalms 118:29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
