Mid-Continent Public Library Teen Summer Reading Program “Own The Night”

Guidelines for Teen Program (Ages 11-18)  Have a Mid-Continent library card  Read a book, either from the library or your own.  Write a short book review online to earn Library Bucks that can be redeemed for library services and prizes.  Pay off overdue fines, make copies, get a replacement card, or choose from a variety of prizes including books, earbuds, flash drives, and more!  Each review will enter you into a grand prize drawing for a netbook computer!

Register online at beginning May 21st. To sign yourself up:  Click on the “Sign Me Up” button  Enter your library card and password. It is recommended that you use your eight digit birthday, mmddyyyy  Enter your name, gender, age, grade for school year, zip code, school district and school, and library you most often use  Click “Save” and if successful a confirmation window will open.  Click “Ok” to acknowledge and close.

To Enter Your Own Reviews:  Log into your account  Click on the “Add/View Log” button  Enter the title and author. Give the item a rating on a 1-5 scale and type your review.  If you wish to make your review available for others to see click “Yes”, otherwise click “No”. Selecting “No” does not affect your prize eligibility.  Click “Save” and “Log Out” when finished.  Come into the library to receive your library bucks.

Redeem these prizes using Library Bucks 1 buck =Earbuds 1 buck =Replacement Library Card 1 buck =$1 in overdue fines. Cannot be used for lost or damaged books 1 buck =10 black and white prints or 2 color prints 2 bucks =Prize Book 3 bucks =Messenger Bag 5 bucks =4 GB flash drive

Book bucks can only be redeemed for TSRP prizes (books, messenger bags, flash drives) until July 31 st, otherwise you can continue to use them for copies, fines, replacement cards, or earbuds until December 31, 2012!
