Why we all need to be feminist By: Noel Nevarez

Feminism Definition According to Merriam Webster: 1. the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes 2 .organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests Feminism Definition

Why is it important? “Feminist: the person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes” -Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in Beyonce’s “***Flawless” Feminist issues focus on and benefit on everyone Feminist ideals would help America reach the equality it deserves

What’s the problem? Women continue to make only 70 cents to every dollar men make (Ariane, Hartmann, Hudiburg, Keller, and Williams) Women only hold 19% of the seats in congress (CAWP Fact Sheet) These issues continue to be ignored and avoided in the government (Everett)

Why do people oppose it? Many people are misinformed and believe feminism is a form of misandry Some feminist have been known to be too extreme for people and judge them all based on this Politicians who say: “Money is more important to men” (Johnston)

What do we do? Us that know what feminism really is and what is really about should educate those who continually oppress us Become active and vocal about the unfairness in our society towards both men and women

How do we implement this? Don’t be ashamed to be called a feminist. Disregard the negative connotation it has received. Don’t be ashamed to stand up for what you believe is morally right.
