Do I ever need to come to campus? Yes, two times. Your midterm and final exams are given on campus in room 221 of Garrison Gym. The tutoring center is also located on campus in 222 Garrison Gym if you need extra help. Note: if you live more than 100 miles from UH main campus, we will need to make arrangements for you to test at another university or a testing center. Please me to discuss this further. next

When are the Midterm and Final Exams? The midterm will be Friday July 10 th and Saturday July 11 th The final will be Friday August 7 th and Saturday August 8 th Again, if you are more than 100 miles away during exam time, we will need to make alternate arrangements. next

What is the “Lab” portion of this class? Face to face calculus classes have a separate time to attend a required problem quiz section. For the online calculus classes, we have incorporated that into the weekly sessions and into participation in the Discussion Board. The Discussion Board is located on Courseware. next

I cannot attend the lecture session, what should I do? Watch the video and answer the alternate poppers BEFORE the stated due date. If you have questions about the lecture or the problem session, post them to the discussion board. If you cannot attend the problem session, be sure to look over those notes as well. There will be poppers during that session too. next

How are grades determined? As stated in your syllabus: 30% final exam, 25% midterm exam, 20% quizzes, 20% homework, 5% participation You must make at least a 60% on the final to be eligible to pass the class. Quizzes are REQUIRED. The first quiz is a Course Policy quiz. You must make a 100% on this before you can take any other quizzes. There is a posted quiz schedule on your class page ( then click on your class). Homeworks are REQUIRED. There will be one homework assignment each week to submit online. Participation is REQUIRED. Participation is made up of popper points and discussion board entries. You must make at least one entry regarding the week’s assignments or quiz to the discussion board each week. You may post your own question or answer someone else’s to receive credit. next

Live Orientation Session There will be an Orientation Session on Sunday, May 31 st at 7:00 pm. This is online but it will be “live” so you can ask questions there if you have them.
