England / School

 In the second April week some students from the first, second and fourth grade of our grammar school took part in a study stay in South-England town Worthing. The Student Agency that organized it provided us perfect service, from transport to rich program.

 Our students were accommodated in host families, which brought them much experience because they could see what they had just read in textbooks before. They also tried their language knowledge for the first time.

 The students took morning lessons in English schools in the morning. They were separated into three groups according to their English language level. Each group had their own teacher. Most of the students were excited by the way of teaching that is different from our one.

 All the students were sitting around one table and their teacher often assigned tasks to single students the results of which he always checked and appraised carefully. The students were often encouraged and praised and they had chance to correct their mistakes. Grammar, phrases and vocabulary were practiced a lot.

In the end everyone got a certificate with a word appraisal and the best students and students who made the biggest progress were announced.

 Afternoons were usually a good time for trips. Sunny Monday was a great day for a walk trip to Seven Sisters, beautiful chalk cliffs above the sea. The next days turned colder and it was raining but still the trips to Brighton, Hasting and Shingletown were just great. The most popular for children was a medieval village with inhabitants and animals or smuggler caves on the coast of Hastings.

 The last stopover was London on our way back home. We took a walk around all MUST SEE SIGHTS – Buckingham Palace, Picadilly, the wax figures museum or British Museum. In the evening we got over the London traffic jam and set out towards Folkstone and then through the tunnel back to Europa.
