Examples of “The Conclusion Trick” AG Known as the father of the Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci was an amazing man. Conclusion trick: Each time I see that curious smile on the Mona Lisa´s face I find myself drawn (pulled) again into the mystery of da Vinci. NOTE: The idea of the conclusion trick is to remind readers of the attention getter that you used to start your essay. It gives the reader a sense of finality and completeness.

Examples of “The Conclusion Trick” AG She was the seductive beauty known as the “Queen of the Nile.” Conclusion trick: One hour would not be enough for all the questions I could ask the Queen of the Nile.

Examples of “The Conclusion Trick” AG The mouse, the iPod, the iMac, and the iPad are just some of his inventions. Conclusion: So, as I click my mouse, change songs on my iPod and do a web search on my iPad, again I think of how great it would be to speak to Steve Jobs.

Examples of questions turned into noun clauses: STUDENT: I would ask her did she believe in love? (grammatically incorrect) Was she ever in love? Did she consider herself beautiful? What fashion and beauty tips could she give me? TEACHER: I would ask her if she believed in love and if she had ever been in love. I would like to know if she considered herself beautiful and would ask her if she could give me some fashion and beauty tips.
