CAPS RoutePro RoutePro Designer RoutePro Dispatcher Strategic and tactical analysis. Use to: Analyze territories. Select fleet size. Design fixed routes. RoutePro Dispatcher Operational routing. Use to create efficient routes quickly and easily.

Historical orders & routes RoutePro RoutePro Designer Historical orders & routes Forecast orders Master Routes Service Days Frequencies Fleet Size Daily Routes RoutePro Dispatcher Drivers Current orders Mobile Dispatch Vehicle Status

RoutePro Handles wide variety of routing: Time windows. Long haul routing. Local routing. Mixed pickups and deliveries. Backhauls. Cross-docking (for predefined shipments). Sequences of truckload trips. Incorporates several solution algorithms. Can manage vehicles, drivers, and tractors separately.

RoutePro Users Administrator Dispatcher Setup system Create load and validate data Setup routing rules and parameters Configure options for dispatcher Dispatcher Import orders Validate data Create routes Analyze results Schedule assets (assign routes to drivers) Export routes

RoutePro Objects Required objects: Other objects: Sites (locations). Orders. Vehicles. Other objects: Road network. Loading docks. Products. Time windows. Drivers & driver teams. Tractors. Rush hour windows.

Road Network Can use a variety of road networks provided with RoutePro. Administrator can edit roads and nodes. Change speeds. Delete roads. Block roads. Add roads. Add intersections. Make one-way or two-way.

Road Network Different colors for different road classes.

Road Network Zoom in on Boston and Cape Cod.

Sites Where orders are pickup up or delivered. Customer, DC, plant, etc. Can have associated dock types. Loading dock configuration may restrict type or size of vehicles that can visit site. Can have flexible time windows for sites. Start time. End time. Maximum wait time and cost per hour. Maximum early time and cost per hour. Maximum late time and cost per hour.

Sites Tool deliveries from one warehouse to two types of customers.

Zoom in Around Warehouse Two way or one way roads. Sites are not really on roads.

Connecting Sites to Roads Red squares are nodes on road network. Assumes travel from site to nearest road node.

Site Data - Location

Site Data - Time Windows

Site Time Windows Start time: 9:00 am - End time: 5:00 pm. wait early late 5:00 pm 7:00 pm 6:30 am 8:00 9:00 Start time: 9:00 am - End time: 5:00 pm. Maximum wait time: 1.5 hours Cannot load/unload Maximum early time: 1 hour Maximum late time: 2 hours Can load/unload during early and late time at a penalty.

Geocoding Street level U.S. Postal codes Canadian postal code City 3 digit zip code 5 digit zip code 9 digit zip code Canadian postal code City

Orders Associated with sites. Orders consist of products. Pickup location and time window. Delivery location and time window. Orders consist of products. Quantities can be specified as desired in three measures. Weight, Volume (cubic feet), Other (pallets) Can specify line item by product. Given characteristics of products, and unit quantities RoutePro will aggregate.

Orders - Location

Orders - Pickup Time Window

Orders - Product Detail

Orders - Aggregated

Products, Orders and Vehicles Can specify conversions from product units to vehicle units. Can define variable load/unload times by product. Can define compatibilities between a product and another product or a vehicle.

Orders - Load/Unload Time

Vehicles Multiple types with different characteristics. Availability. Cost data. Vehicle limits. Route limits. Drivers data. Tractor data. Different types allow compatibilities between vehicles and Sites (docks). Products. Drivers. Tractors.

Vehicle Availability Specify time and day vehicles become available Now or in future. Specify start and end time each day. Specify start and end location. Specify reloading locations.

Vehicle Types & Availability

Vehicle Costs Fixed cost (per route). Cost per hour. Cost per mile. Cost per stop.

Vehicle Costs

Vehicle Limits Maximum number of routes (in a given time period). Maximum vehicle work hours (in a given time period). Maximum vehicle distance (in a given time period). Maximum vehicle speed.

Route Limits Maximum Miles. Hours. Number of stops. Number of orders. Number of loads (reloadings). Cubic feet, Weight and Pallets. Can specify that last order picked up must be first delivered. Can specify that vehicle must be empty before making any pickups.

Three Driver Options No drivers No drivers, but default costs To model external carriers. No driver costs included. No drivers, but default costs Does not assign drivers to vehicles. Includes labor costs for drivers. Can specify >1 driver for long routes. Assign drivers to vehicles Assigns compatible driver to vehicle after routes are built. Can specify >1 driver for long routes

Driver Data Costs. Break profile. Work profile. Regulations. Per mile, per hour, layover. Break profile. One or more breaks per route. Work profile. Start and end time for each day. Regulations.

Driver Costs

Driver Break Profiles

Tractor Data Add-in software module. Allows tractors to be treated separately from trailers. Assigns tractors to vehicles after routes are built. Tractors handled similar to drivers Availability. Costs. Work Profile.

Vehicle Compatibilities Specify whether each vehicle type can serve a particular type of Order or product. Site (dock). Specify whether each vehicle type can use a particular type of tractor or driver.
