 The Roman Forum was located in the center of Rome.

 The Forum was the Roman version of the Greek Agora.  It had many uses, from being a general marketplace, a place for festivals, funerals, courts, business, politics, assemblies, and amusement.

 During the Republic, the Forum became the political and economic center of Rome. It was abandoned around the 4 th century. During the Republic, the structures had the carving “SPQR” meaning Senatus Populus Que Romanus, which translates to ‘the Senate and the People of Rome’.

 The Roman Forum was the political, social, religious, and judicial center of the city. It was often called the “heart of ancient Rome” because the city was based around it and it was where people went to do their daily business.
