What is a Document Based Question (D.B.Q.) Essay? A D.B.Q. is designed to function as a ‘Mini Research’ paper where the student is provided 9 Short Answer research questions based on 3 Separate Global History Topics which are then used to write a ‘Final’ Essay Paper on the Final Exam Sample Document

Rules of ALL D.B.Q.’s How Many Paragraphs should D.B.Q.’s be? How many Documents do you need to cite in your D.B.Q essay? Can You use the Historical Context as your Introduction Paragraph?

Writing the DBQ Reminders After you write a sentence make sure you can not ask yourself a Who, What, Where, When, Why, or How question. If so you didn’t write with enough depth Be sure to use your outside info along with your information found in the document to achieve ‘Analysis’
