Painting with Watercolo ur

Block Paints -Easy to work with -Translucent or opaque painting techniques. -Easy to clean. -Easy to mix and create new colours. Translucent/Transparent- Add more water to the brush. Opaque- Add more paint to the brush.

Translucent vs Opaque Translucent/Transparent- letting light through, seeing through to the other side. -Less rich in colour. Opaque- not letting light through, harder to see to the other side. -More rich in colour.

Playing with Watercolours  Use the block paints to discover how to create paint strokes that are more translucent or opaque.  Try mixing paint to create colours that are not part of the block paints.  Design an abstract watercolour picture.  White space is part of the paper, not painted in with white.  Use both translucent and opaque techniques.
