The Replace command finds text and formatting and replaces it automatically with specified alternatives Use the Find command to locate whole words, words that sound alike, font and paragraph formatting, and special characters. Using the find command, you can search an entire document or selected text. You can also specify the direction of the search Use the Match case option to locate text that matches the case of document text When you want to locate whole words and not parts of a word, use the Find whole words only option

All rights reserved. 21 Lesson 8 Summary Use the Use wildcards option to search for text strings by using special search operators. A wildcard is a symbol that stands for missing or unknown text Use Sounds like option to find a word that sounds similar to the search text but is spelled differently or to find a word you do not know how to spell. When you find the word, you can stop the search process and edit your document Use the Find command to search for formatted text, including character or paragraph formatting. Use the Replace command to replace the formatting
