* Optics in space revolves around the behaviour of light outside of the atmosphere. Studying celestial bodies, galaxies and planets, is one way to view optics in space.

* The progression of Optics in Space comes with several benefits. Whether, geographically, economically or socially, our various findings and expeditions result in positive turn outs.

* Being informed of geographic landscape on other planets is vital in understanding what surrounds Earth. Knowing how our world functions and was created is crucial.

* Engineers, technicians, scientists – they’re all needed in order for Optics in Space to resume and continue their studies and research. The field of education supplies people with finances: a job!

* Life exterior to Earth has proven to be possible. Derived from theories, certain findings prove theories into certainties. The advancements and findings in the astronomical sector may influence society heavily in the near future.

* Launched in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has accounted for over 6,000 published articles based on its findings solely. It has been extremely beneficial to astronomic findings and continues to assist us in comprehending outer space and the boundless information within.

* The Hubble Space Telescope has made countless breakthroughs in astronomic history. Relating to planetary science, galactic science, cosmology and more, we have been able to find much about outer space thanks to the significance of the Hubble.

* We have been successful in identifying newborn stars * Extrasolar Planets have been identified * Debris craters are viewable through such a powerful resolution (of the Hubble)

* Gamma ray events were identified as powerful explosions through Hubble images. * Galaxy halos were verified as varying in rage; therefore, smaller galaxies merge/get engulfed by larger galaxies. * White dwarf stars were also examined, enabling us to understand how stars spend their final years before disruption.

* The Hubble Space Telescope has identified thousands of new galaxies both large and small. * Through close examination, the universe has been declared as 13.7billion years old (approximately). * Black holes and Quasars are analyzed in galaxies as well.

* Funnelled through, into the contraption, light reflects off 2 primary concave mirrors, towards the two secondary mirrors. The secondary mirrors, are convex, which then reflect the light into a pinpointed area in the focal point. There, all light and data are transmitted into images!

* The Hubble Space Telescope is most certainly not stationary in orbit. As a matter of fact, it completes a whole circuit (spin) around Earth every 97 minutes travelling at a speed of around 8km/second. * The telescope is equipped with technology that allows it to look at galaxies in varying ways: Wide Field Camera 3, Cosmic Origins Spectrograph, Advanced Camera for Surveys, Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, Near Infra-red Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer and Fine Guidance Sensors. * At first launch, the project cost $1.5 billion. * The telescope weights around 11,110kg (approximately 24,500lbs) * The Hubble transmits over 120 gigabytes of new science data weekly. * This telescope powers itself by absorbing the energy of the Sun using two 25- foot solar panels. It has a power usage of 2,800 watts * NASA has spent over $10billion to build, launch and maintain the services of the telescope from 1990 to present day.
