What Does a Smoke Alarm Do? A smoke alarm Senses Smoke in the Home and Alerts people of a Fire with a Loud Siren so they can get out of the house safely. What Types Of Smoke Alarms are There? 1) Hard Wired smoke alarms must be installed by an Electrician. 2) Battery Operated smoke alarms will also protect your home and you can install one Yourself. 3) Both Hard Wired and Battery Operated smoke alarms can be Interconnected for Better Home Protection. 1) 2) 9 Volt Smoke Alarm Guide 1 1 3)

What Brand Should I Buy? Look for the SSL, Quality Assurance Standard, or Activfire labels on the box to ensure that your smoke alarm meets Australian standards.
