STYLITIS-101 Advanced, portable data acquisition system covering a wide range of measurement and recording needs

1. MAIN FEATURES 27 channels, and specifically: -6 Counter Channels (types: SIN, TTL or REED). -18 Analog Channels: Voltage and current output sensors with various programmable gains are supported. Every 3 channels, one plug-in module defines the type of 2 differential and 1 single-ended channel. -3 Digital Channels (state inputs 1/0, TTL level, 1 bit each). Sampling once per second. Math statistics (Average, Min, Max, Sdv) recorded per interval (from 1 min to 1 hour). Capability to record in time series (separate frequency for each channel-up to 32 Hz). Recording in internal memory of 512KB (buffer) or in Removable Compact Flash Cards (up to 2GB) for practically unlimited data storage. 1 serial communication port (DCE). Outputs: -0~6 programmable Voltage (up to 5V each, at 100mA total) or Current excitation (up to 5mA each), according to the analog plug-in module. -3 fixed +5V (at 10 mA total), for counter supply.

4. COMMUNICATION METHODS Communication with Stylitis-101 can be achieved in various ways The datalogger can be used: -On its own, for local operation -With a serial-to-Ethernet adaptor, connected to its serial port, for LAN/ internet operation -With various types of modems, connected to its serial port, for remote operation The communication methods are presented more analytically in the next chapters

8. STYLITIS EXPLORER SOFTWARE Stylitis Explorer is Stylitis-101’s free operating software. Via Stylitis Explorer you can: Create Site folders and Connections. Each datalogger has its unique folder, while multiple (different types of) connections can be created for the logger. The different connection types correspond to the communication methods, discussed before. Modify its Setup: Channel parameters, recording interval, GPRS settings, etc. Specifically, channel parameters can be set in 3 ways: manually via a virtual keyboard (same buttons and appearance as the real one), manually via a more user friendly interface (Easy Setup) or automatically (via Easy Setup again), by selecting a specific sensor from Stylitis Explorer’s sensor library View the logger’s status: Instant parameters, such as the current file, the recording time remaining, etc. View the instant channel values. Enable/ disable data acquisition to create data files, stored in the removable Compact Flash card (up to 2 GB). Files are not stored in the 512KB internal memory (buffer) when acquisition is disabled. Download data files, which are stored in the Compact Flash card, or the current file of the buffer, in compressed form. They are stored and decompressed automatically in the site folder, to be viewed via a text editor. From the Compact Flash you can download: the recent file (a new file begins), the card’s directory (to speculate the files’ size, number, start and end date), or a previous file. Adjust the settings of Sym-o-net modem, for GPRS connections and encrypted data s. View an Online plot of the channel values. All samples are plotted (every second). Manage the downloaded data files offline. -For single data files: view the channels’ plot and statistics, apply new Slope and Offset values in retrospect -For a folder’s files: check the integrity of the files (check for missing or duplicate records or if the interval is the same for all files) and view the data availability within the months and years.

10. AUTOCONNECT SOFTWARE As stated before, data files can be downloaded manually, via Stylitis Explorer, via any connection. However, data download, along with other actions as well, can be preformed automatically, in a regular basis, via the additional free software AutoConnect. The datalogger can perform a different action each weekday: -Download Data: The current data file, either from the buffer or from the Compact Flash. There is an option to clear the buffer in the end or not. -Download Status: Instant parameters, such as the current file, the recording time remaining, etc. -Download Display. Get the instant channel values. -Update Captum. Captum is a free service to present real-time and historical data of Symmetron data loggers on the World Wide Web. Captum Plot The selected action of a weekday can be performed once a day at a specific selected time, or infinite connections can be made that weekday every as many minutes as you wish. Besides editing the auto connections (like in Stylitis Explorer) via AutoConnect’s interface, you can: -View a list of all your automatic connections and execute one or more manually. -Check each connection’s latest status, ie if it succeeded, or failed and why. -View the date and time of last connection and last successful download for each one.
