Thursday Fun Run 8:30-9:00 pre-school (K3, K4, K5) –Gymnasium –Music playing –Locomotors and obstacle course activities –Motivational signs 9:20-10:20 (1 st – 8 th grades) –Outside parking lot space –Music playing –Tags for keeping track of laps –Pedometers –Motivational signs

Cardiovascular Goal Maintain the heart rate in the target range for at least 20 minutes Calculate: –Resting Heart Rate –Maximum Heart Rate 220-age (.7 x age) –Target Heart Rate Zones (60-85%) Discussion of the scientific background of heart rate, exercise, etc.

Heart Rate Zones Chart percent –Warm-up and cool down zone after more vigorous zones –Will improve your “health” percent –Low level of effort –Burning calories percent –Increase blood vessels, lung capacity, heart size/strength percent –Get faster and more fit; increase VO 2 max

Important Tips You must make a long press of MODE in any main screen to get a heart rate reading. Moisten the rubber electrodes of the belt with either water or saliva. Make sure you have a close but comfortable fit.

Quick Start Put on the transmitter Attach the monitor to your wrist. Press and hold the mode key until the heart symbol appears. After a few seconds the heart symbol will start flashing and your heart rate will appear.

Setting Time & Calendar Hold in sel/light until SET is visible on the screen. Hold st/fwd to reset OR sel/light to go to next number

Setting Daily Alarm Press sel/light to move to daily/alarm. Press and release st/fwd to select alarm from either hourly chime only; daily alarm; both on; both off. Press sel/light to move to daily alarm hours. Press and release st/fwd to increase or scan to decrease the hours. Press SELECT to move to daily alarm minutes.

Setting the Heart Rate Zone Press sel/light to move to the heart zone high setting. Press and release st./fwd to increase or scan to decrease to the set required number. Press sel/light to move to the heart zone low setting. Press and release st./fwd to increase or scan to decrease to the set the required number.

Setting the Countdown Timer Press st./fwd or scan to select repeat (both the repeat and TMR icon will be displayed). Press st./fwd or scan to select single countdown (just the TMR icon will be displayed). Press select to move to countdown timer hours.
