The Canadian Cancer Statistics is an annual series that began in 1987 and continues till this day. To date they have successfully treated over 1million Canadians

There are 3 main ways to treat cancer: * Surgery * cancer drugs * Radiation.

* Radiation therapy is the use of a certain type of energy. X-rays, gamma rays and electrons are used to destroy cancer cells. Radiation only destroys cells in the area being treated.

* Certain drugs are used to treat certain cancers. * ANTIMETOBOLITES interfere with DNA growth and are used to treat leukemia breast cancer and ovarian tumors. * Anthracyclines are anti tumor antibiotics that disrupt DNA replication.

There are several types of surgery patients can receive: * Prostate surgery * Mastectomy surgery * Breast surgery * Lung surgery * Brain surgery
