Tutorial Center ~1000 students/quarter Individual and group tutoring in L47 & E36 (math/sci) Tutors well-trained: journals, videotaping, Sr. Tutors Volunteers saved us $16K for F03!

Self-Paced Skills Classes Reading, Writing, Grammar, Vocabulary, Spelling, Study Skills ~200 students/qtr Self-paced, 1/2 unit classes--flexible, individualized Workshops (schedule online) Future plans: online options Instructor Referral Form (online)

Adjunct Skills Classes ~400 students/quarter 1/2 unit group tutoring, plus study skills labs Linked to large lecture classes (ie Econ, Hist, Bio)

Online Writing Assistance Center (OWAC) Help for upper-level EWRT students & online & evening sections NOT an editing service. “Help the student, not the paper.” Uses ETUDES 48 hour turnaround. Students must plan ahead!

Why online tutoring? Students want it (Smarthinking, other schools) Tutors well-trained (see “For Online Tutors” page) Access for those who can’t come to campus
