Presentation transcript:

LIFT South Gloucestershire The local IAPT service (Improving access to Psychological therapies). Target client group – Mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

Service Outline Since October 2012: ‘Front door’ service. Assessment and Step 1 ( Stress and mood management Course). AQP (Any Qualified Provider) providing step 2 and 3 interventions.

The ‘Front Door’ Service To date the team has received 12,145 referrals (81%) self referral and 1944 (16%) G.P referral (33%) have attended the Stress and Mood Management course (35 %) have been referred on to step 2 and 1128 (9%) step 3 interventions.

AQP Range of providers offering a range of interventions across a range of venues in South Gloucestershire and Bristol. Step 2 interventions six sessions – group (Psycho-educational)and 1:1 (CBT orientated) Step 3 interventions twelve sessions- 1:1 (CBT, Counselling, EMDR) and limited groups (MBT and post natal depression)

Challenges Managing the high volume of referrals. High DNA rate. Tariffs for AQP work. Accommodation. Staffing with fluctuating demand. Delivering the ‘front end’ and providing AQP. Increasing complexity of referrals.

Opportunites AQP offers choice to the Service User ie choice of time, venue, provider and intervention. Low waiting times for treatment. Accessible Partnership working between a range of different sized providers. Increasing move to evidence based interventions based on NICE guidelines for treating anxiety and depression.

Future. Contract ends October Retendering process to start Jan Dec 2014 introduction of registration form for all new referrals. Jan 2015 name change South Gloucestershire Talking Therapies. Move away from the LIFT model (Least intervention first) Increase in provision of bespoke groups (Care leavers, BASS and local charity.)
