Why AP Outreach ?  AP region needs “Outreach & Awareness”. But  Restricted human resources in AP region.  Save budget, Increase audience.  Internet is not separated with domain name, IP, market, education, network, infrastructure..etc. They are correlated with each other.  Need encourage or help outreach program of other AP organizations.  Need a coordinate or facilitate body.

Objective and Scope  To coordinate and/or facilitate AP organizations’ outreach and awareness programs.  To give information, and discuss ICANN and IT related issues from member AP organizations.  To help with forming and organizing the target country’s Local Internet Community in the Asia-Pacific region, and joining with Global Internet Community.  To make human connection in various Asia-Pacific Internet forums and/or organizations such as APTLD, APNIC, APRICOT, APNG, APAN, APIA, (MINC), (ccTLD) …etc.

AP Outreach Members  Organizations and Individuals  Mailing list:  Need Oversee Committee or Board Members: APTLD, APNIC, APIA, APNG, APRICOT,APAN MINC, ccTLD Sec…etc.

(Initial) Budget Status  Funding ($16,973.39):  APTLD: $ for APTLD Outreach  KRNIC: $10,000 + (initial supports) for AP Outreach  APNIC: supported meeting places  Local Hosts: sometimes lodging and/or food  Expenses ($3,193.71):  For Hong Kong Seminar - Abhisak Chulya: $ (airfare, lodging and meals) - BK Kim: KRNIC supports  For Shanghai Seminar - Ching-Yi Liu: $ (airfare) - YJ Park: $446.86(airfare and lodging) - BK Kim: KRNIC Supports  For Dubai Seminar - BK Kim: $ (airfare, lodging and meals)

Proposed Funding Model  AP Outreach would be a non-profit organization.  Minimum needed for a coordinator, maintaining website, arrange speakers and topics..etc.  a part-time director and a full-time staff  about $40,000/year  Funding model option 1: 4-7 major organization members $10K for speakers and secretariat option 2: 3 catagories $10K(large), $5K(medium), $3K(small)
