PSAT All juniors will take the PSAT on October 15 th. The school covers the testing fee. This is the ONLY day students can take this exam. Good indicator of how a student will score on the SAT. Test to qualify for National Merit Scholarship Program. Good indicator for AP course potential.

Spring Dual Credit Registration and payment begins on November 13, 2014, for the Spring 2015 semester with South Plains College. Dual Credit/Early Admission Course Approval Form You will receive a postcard in the mail with the information for our dual credit sign up night in the spring semester.

Dual Credit Students and parents need to check with potential colleges/universities to see if dual credit hours will transfer. Frenship cannot promise all dual credit courses will transfer. Students must be TSI compliant or meet the SAT/ACT score requirements. Student is responsible for sending SAT/ACT scores to SPC.

ASVAB Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test is available to juniors and seniors on October 29 th, free of charge. Students need to watch announcements on signing up for this optional test practice

Research Top 5 Colleges Juniors need to begin researching potential colleges. Find out admission requirements, test scores, estimated cost, etc (application deadline is Sept. 28 of senior year)

College Visits Juniors are allowed 2 college visits. Let teachers know you will be gone. Bring back a signed and dated document from college/university and take to Ms. Dominguez in the attendance office for school board approved absence.

Junior Year is IMPORTANT Colleges and universities use the junior year final transcript for admission purposes. Register with the NCAA Clearinghouse during junior year if playing Division I or II athletics. Take SAT/ACT during junior year because you apply by November of your senior year! Get fee waivers from counselor for SAT/ACT if student receives free/reduced lunch. University of Texas Automatic Admission for Class of 2016 will be Top 8%.

Free Online Test Preparation Come by the counseling suite to get a username and password for ACT Prep Online.

ACT/SAT Boot Camp November 18 th (SAT) and 19 th (ACT) on FHS campus. Fee is approximately $60 for both or $40 for one. Watch announcements and check the college readiness website for registration information.

STAAR End of Course Exams Remember that students will take the US History EOC the week of May 4 th, Students must pass this test in order to graduate. AP Exams are May 4-15, 2015.

Coffee with the Counselors These will be posted on our website and school announcements. College recruiters will come visit with our students about the admissions process. Monday mornings from 8 to 9 am.
