PRAY FOR ALL YOU’RE WORTH (SERIES) “OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN” MATTHEW 6:9-13

THE LORD’S PRAYER “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

QUESTION: WHAT WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR EARTHLY FATHER?

I. “OUR FATHER” means to us: RELATIONSHIP!

RELATIONSHIP IS ESTABLISHED WITH GOD OUR FATHER THROUGH A NEW BIRTH! “TRULY, I SAY TO YOU, “YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!” JESUS (JOHN 3:3)

RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD CREATES A FATHER/SON AND FATHER/DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP! GOD IS OUR FATHER WE ARE HIS CHILDREN

A FATHER/SON AND A FATHER/DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD MEANS: PERSONAL LOVE AND CARE FOR US! “CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON HIM BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU” (I PETER 5:7)

II. “OUR FATHER” provides for us – HIS PRESENCE! “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.” (HEBREWS 13:5)

“OUR FATHER” provides for us- UNLIMITED ACCESS!

III. “OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN” means for us – PLACE AND POSITION!

HEAVEN IS A SPECIFIC PLACE! “This same Jesus, who has been taken up from you INTO HEAVEN, will come…” Acts 1:11

“WHEN I CONSIDER THE HEAVENS, THE WORK OF YOUR FINGERS, THE MOON AND THE STARS THAT YOU HAVE ORDAINED, WHAT IS MAN THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF HIM?” PSALM 8:3,4

IV. “OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN” provides for us – His unlimited authority! His unlimited power!
