KIDS LOVE TECHNOLOGY! USE IT IN YOUR CLASSROOMS!

WHY USE TECHNOLOGY? Using technology in your classroom is a fun and interactive way to help your English Learners attain fluency in English. It is a non-threatening and safe environment. They won’t be made fun of or put on the spot when using technology. They will enjoy it and will not even realize how much they are learning by using technology in the classroom

TIPS FOR USING TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING ELEMENTARY-AGED ENGLISH LEARNERS 1.Set up a computer center in your classroom and let students explore the following websites:

Great for learning to read and attaining more vocabulary

This site includes many fun games designed specifically to increase the players’ vocabulary and fluency

This website was created especially for ESL learners. It has many games, videos, and even materials that the teacher can use in his or her classroom for learning English.

TIPS FOR USING TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING ELEMENTARY-AGED ENGLISH LEARNERS 1.Set up a computer center in your classroom and let students explore the following websites: Use tablets in your classroom and have students play on these great apps:

READ ME STORIES This app is fun and creative and includes lots of funny books. Students can read the book themselves or have the book read aloud to them

KIDS SONGS (ENGLISH) This app is fun for elementary students. It teaches them songs to help them learn English

HAVING FUN IS THE BEST WAY TO LEARN Don’t be afraid to incorporate technology in your classrooms. Students will have a lot of fun and it will speed up the learning process. When students are doing something they enjoy they will grasp the concepts more easily and remember the information. Have fun using technology in your classroom!
