Class Teacher: Mr. Ramon Formosa LSA’s: Ms. Lorraine Farrugia Mr. Andre’ Formosa Our

 My is   Please write it on the diary.

 Brainstorming: Can you mention some of the school rules?  Let’s have a look at what rules we are going to follow this year...

As rushing and pushing might lead to trouble and injury.

If You don’t listen, you don’t learn !!

To speak. To go to the toilet. To drink. To get out of place.

Place your chair in and keep your school bag away from passages!

Remember to Use your netbook/tablet only when told by the teacher.

Remember to Take care of your netbook/tablet Always see that your hands are clean.

We use the turf pitch only if we wear the right shoes.

We work quietly in class. So we can all concentrate on our work. If we really need to talk we ask for permission to Whisper

If you remember and follow these rules you will enjoy Grade 5 and we will all have a fun and happy experience together!!

 Do you have neat & organized work?  Do you take an initiative to do other things that the teacher tells you to do?  Are you putting in effort in your work?  Do you keep your desk clean and in order?

 Do you fold your PE kit/uniform neatly in your bag?  Do you show a positive, good behaviour during lessons/mass/assembly?  Are you a responsible boy?  Do you respect your teachers & friends?

 Then, in Grade 5 Arnold you will start earning tokens.  Once you earn tokens you need to keep them somewhere safe as they might be also taken back!  With 25 or 30 tokens you earn a 

 Tokens are given for various reasons: effort good behaviour, helping each other, getting full-marks on a test or dictation, neat work etc.  It is you who decides if to stop at 25 or try to go for 30 tokens to be able to choose a bigger present from the gift box.  It is your responsibility to keep the tokens somewhere safe. If you loose them or wash them you will not have them replaced!

 Everyday you will all start in the “Good container”.  If you behave, work hard, respect others, follow instructions you will be placed in the “superstar” container.  If you misbehave, you do not work, you do not respect others you will be placed in the “needs to improve” container.

 At the end of the day the boys in the superstar container get 2 points, those in the good get one point and those in the needs to improve get nothing.  Each month the boys who get most points will get a treat.

During lessons the traffic lights will be used. This will be found on the whiteboard. Each time there is too much noise or time wasting the traffic lights starts to work. If you end up with the red there will be consequences.

Sometimes you will be allowed to speak while you work but …….. Follow the instructions on the noisometer. If the arrow moves towards the warning sign than it means …….. Trouble is on the way !!!!

If by the end of the day there is no fighting …… 3 marbles will go into the jar. When the jar is full ……….. All the class will get a small prize/treat

 Remember the following expression: “For every action there is a reaction...” This means that for everything you do there is always a consequence... If you do a good action, you are rewarded with a positive consequence, if you do a bad action, you are given a negative consequence. Tokens might be taken, stamps might be cancelled and other consequences might be given.

 On the class website you will all have 30 lives. Each missing H.W. will make you lose a life.  For every HW missed and not covered by a note from parents, they will be informed.  If you get 5 parents’ notes of missing HWs in a month, you will be reported to the assistant head/Head.

 It is all up to YOU whether to earn tokens, stamps and other positive rewards that I am willing to give you, or, receive negative rewards if you do not obey or misbehave.

 It is up to you if Mr. Ramon will be …..  or

So, the question is simple..... DEAL or NO DEAL to do our best this year?
