Purpose: Today we will introduce you to Gather and Care whose purpose is to advance your church’s vision of how to minister to widows and orphans.

Who is Gather and Care? Our Vision:  Gather and Care Ministries seek to be led by the Holy Spirit:  to Encourage, Equip, and Enable local churches;  to increase their capacity and potential for ministry to widows and orphans;  so that the ministries utilize people’s assets: their gifts, abilities, and resources, become sustainable by the local church, and are life transforming.

What are the Guiding Principles of Gather and Care? -utilizing people’s assets: their gifts, abilities, and resources -increasing capacity and potential for ministry -becoming sustainable by the local church -life transforming

These Guiding Principles are illustrated in 2 Kings 4:1-7: A Widow in need comes to Elisha

“How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” vs. 2 Principle: What gifts, abilities, and resources do you already have? What can God do with what you have?

“Go around and ask your neighbors for empty jars.” vs. 3 jars.” vs. 3 Principle: What can help increase your capacity and potential?

Guiding Principles applied to ministry:  What gifts, abilities, and resources do you already have?  What can help increase your capacity and potential for ministry?  How can your ministry become sustainable by the local church?  What makes a ministry life transforming?

What is Gather and Care’s role? How can we advance your ministry to widows and orphans? We are your neighbor’s with jars for your oil. We come together to increase your capacity and advance your potential in ministry to widows and orphans.

We increase a local churches capacity and potential for ministry as we:  Encourage: Through sharing your vision.  Equip: Through best practices and biblical training.  Enable: Through contributing 1/3 of the resources.

We partner with you to develop ministry that:  Utilizes people’s assets: their God given gifts, abilities, and resources.  Becomes sustainable by the local church.  Is life transforming.

What does partnership look like? “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body.” I Corinthians 12:12-26
