Mostly public transport consisted of buses and trains, at the time people had less access to their own means of transport and so buses and trains were more widely used. At one time, train routes spanned across almost the whole of Britain, but as trains became less and less important in everyday life, the routes and even the tracks were slowly removed from the system. Aviation was rarely used as a method of public transport, because it was too expensive to be used by ordinary working class people.
Public Transport in the modern day Buses and trains are used less, as people can afford to buy their own methods of transport such as cars. Aviation is popular and is available to all, however among working class it is still seen as a considerable cost and the cost of air travel is likely to increase due to the taxes imposed.
