USE THESE TO MAKE COMPARISONS AND ENHANCE YOUR WRITING. Similes and Metaphors

Simile A simile compares two things using the words “like” or “as”. They sing like angels.  Angels are beautiful, pleasant, and good. He’s as dumb as a brick.  A brick doesn’t think. It doesn’t have a brain.

Metaphor A metaphor compares two things more directly. It does not use “like” or “as”. Her heart is made of stone. What’s a stone like?  Cold  Hard  Can hurt you A person with a stone heart doesn’t care about other people and doesn’t feel emotions.
