Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics MarkeTech Interactive “We Do It For You” Slide 3

Deep Diving Into Social Media – Beyond Basics JUST A SLIGHT OVERVIEW: WEBSITE- Here is where you want all your communications, all connections to end up. This is your goal in communicating, getting your prospect to YOUR home online and into YOUR office LinkedIn – LinkedIn is a professional networking site… your professional profile with the ability to have a corporate page. Facebook – Most businesses should be using Facebook. It has the largest user base and some of the best targeting tools … BUT it is harder to target from a company page. Twitter is very popular but works better on a larger audience scale. You Tube… going viral on YouTube means putting your face and voice out there! Probably on it’s way Google+ – Google+ has very few active users in comparison to other social media platforms. But SEO counts a lot here. MarkeTech Interactive We Do It For You! Slide 4

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics Be Committed to one… you don’t have to engage on all of them. Be Aware… listen and learn. Be informed … understand the interests of your audience. Be Yourself… Be authentic and fun. Be Generous… with “ valuable information”. Be Strategic… plan out detailed strategies for your social media marketing. Be Realistic … social media is meant to be friendly - an exchange of ideas and information. Be Communicative…making personal connections is the idea! Be Engaging… foster relationships with others online Be on time… when it’s the best time to connect. Slide 5

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics *ComplianceMax… Regulators are the God… of compliance. All static social media must be submitted to your Broker/Dealer. Once it is Approved by them and compliance, it can be put on each platform – LinkedIN, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. All status updates, posts and tweets- which are considered non-static, be archived. Ask us for a list of LPL guidelines to ComplianceMax. MarkeTech Interactive We Do It For You! Slide 6

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics Marketing in a digital world means having the technologies, platforms and operations in place to enable instant communications The cycle that YOU need to start. Start out with “content “. Share this little bit of data and the feedback – it’s the two-way dialogue that you need to foster engagement and keep it going. Start to grow that community. Your marketing cycle is being pushed by the viewers… your audience. MarkeTech Interactive We Do It For You! Slide 7

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics Technologies… your tools must be fully integrated- The digital age has ushered in a host of new tools that can make collecting and following up on leads simple and effective: social media, digital databases, paperless applications. Your platforms should all be “ branded” In reality….because you are all financial advisors you only have to worry about a few platforms, So your tools to utilize and maximize them are there! Hootesuite- I find this to be an especially valuable and hassle free tool for updating Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn simultaneously. Later on we will delve into HOW TO USE HOOTESUITE. MarkeTech Interactive We Do It For You! Slide 8

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics Tools that are useful- again because compliance is always there, you have to be careful where and what you post. But you can use the tools to watch and see what is being said and where. Tweekdeck – tracking, organizing and engaging. Tweriod- analyzes your account for maximum exposure. Simpymeasured works for LinkedIn Company sites analytics. Disqus - For blogs- useful if a blog is on WordPress. Google Alerts… I have to admit, it really works. Quicksprout is a comprehensive website audit. Google Analytics- my primary statistical source. Newsletters- I use Forefield for canned articles. MarkeTech Interactive We Do It For You! Slide 9

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics Operations & Designating Tasks For you to be able and ready to act and react in real - time You first have to “listen” to what is being said. And not about things that are just “trending”. HOW DO I DO THAT ? Embracing real -time means changing how your marketing team operates. “Socialize” your staff, now it’s time for your staff to get social. Decide who you want to designate to be your “voice”. Yes… I am the voice of many. If you don’t know my story yet.. or haven’t been to my website you should read it… MarkeTech Interactive We Do It For You! Who is YOUR voice? Slide 10

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics Integrating Social Media Into Your Traditional Marketing Creating the content on your website and for social media updates Credibility You need to Give answers and keep your ideal clients informed! Connect : Integrating your message on all the platforms with your “voice. HOW DO I DO THAT? When you have all your collateral material, your whole marketing strategy together: You are going to take all that information and make it digital, You are going to POST this material on your website-. Your blog. the post is going to tell the story. And all of your posting will be directing your viewers to your site. You post a twitter with 140 characters directing to your site. You post a LinkedIn status up-date with a link to your site. And tell your friends about it on Facebook… YES, with a link to your site. Remember all your collateral material should have your digital marketing information clearly stated on. Slide 11

Deep Diving Into Your Social Media… Beyond Basics Platforms: to identify the platforms you want to use, you need to identify your goals. Traditional Marketing: So what has been working up till now?  Let's identify the goal.... Your business objectives, Yes… we know it’s to gather more assets under management.  What social media platforms are you using now? Or are you going to use? This takes time – What you are going to say? How are you going to say it? Let's now identify who your audience is? And what platform they are on. o Is twitter where they hang out… short bursts of a message. o Facebook– primarily women… good for a women’s niches. o LinkedIn where the profiles tell you who they are in business! o YouTube- if you are willing to go viral and do video… this is the way to go. o If you have a “niche” market inside your target audience this takes a bit more culling… and research! MarkeTech Interactive We Do It For You! Golf or Groups? Slide 12

There are many different things that you can do in order to increase followers, friends and connections:  Ask for a connection with a personal note, suggest they follow you, follow them back in return and always thank them with a separate note.  Get your staff involved.  Share your page on as many social media platforms as you can manage.  Insert “share” buttons page wherever possible.  Include your platform URL in your signature and any other collateral material.  Share a blog post or blog article from other writers.  Work hard at ensuring that your website and all platforms are in top quality on a regular basis:  Gather analytics to review what is working and what isn’t.
