Scholarship Committee Thank you for supporting the future of our business through recognition and reward for personal commitment to professional education and self improvement. Stanley Bratton Marsh USA, Inc Comerica Bank Tower 1717 Main Street Dallas, TX Purpose To promote the further education and career advancement of individuals who major in accounting or finance who currently work or plan to work in construction or a construction related industry. Educational activities can include full or part-time students with a degree plan either graduate or undergraduate or successful completion of professional exams including CCIFP and CPA. Primary Activities Promote the Dallas/Forth Worth CFMA construction scholarship program; to review all applications; and to grant scholarships or awards to the most qualified individuals. Implementation  Solicit nominations from the CFMA, TEXO and ASA membership.  Evaluate and select the most qualified candidates based on the application form.  Notify the winners and arrange their attendance at the awards event.  Present the awards to the recipients at the awards event semi-annually. What Can You Do? Identify and recommend deserving candidates for recognition by our CFMA chapter in the spring and fall. Look for the application and requirements in your inbox or contact Stan Bratton at Spread the word by sharing information regarding our scholarship and awards as a means to promote and support careers in construction financial accounting in the DFW area. $1000 Academic Scholarships $500 Certification Awards

Academic Scholarship Criteria 1.Be a graduate from a Dallas/Fort Worth area high school or attending a local area college or university. 2. Have maintained a grade point average of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale (in college or university). 3. Preference will be given to candidates that are majoring in Accounting or Finance; however candidates in other fields of study may still be considered for a scholarship award. 4. Must have completed at least entry level accounting, finance, business or construction- related classes. 5.Scholarships are awarded twice a year during the spring and the fall. Scholarship applications should be received no later than April 1 st and October 1st. Awards will be presented in the April or May meetings in the spring and the October or November meetings in the fall. 6. Scholarships will be $1,000 unless the Board votes to change that amount. Conditions & Restrictions We acknowledge that one of our primary goals is education. We also acknowledge the need for qualified employees in the field of construction accounting and finance. These needs will largely be filled from graduating students of our area schools. We hope these scholarships will prove to be an investment in the field of construction in the Dallas/Fort Worth area by providing promising construction professionals with some financial assistance while completing their studies. The Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) has established a Scholarship program to award Scholarships to qualified candidates. Previous recipients are eligible to re-apply in any semester that they qualify, but a new application must be submitted each time. No scholarships will be granted for summer or abbreviated semesters. The applicant must satisfy the requirements below in order to be considered for the scholarship: General Eligibility Criteria 1.Demonstrate a relationship with CFMA, TEXO or American Subcontractor Association via a letter of recommendation from any member (other than an immediate family member). Letter should show applicant’s relationship to the construction industry. 2.Conditions and Restrictions: The scholarship committee reserves the right to deny any applicant if they feel they do not meet the requirements. Scholarships are limited to the amount and number by a decision of the board on a yearly basis. All Applicants will be considered equally without regard for race, creed, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Certification Award Criteria 1.Be a current DFW CFMA member or an employee of a member company. 2. Actively working in a construction accounting or construction financial management capacity. 3. Successfully completed the CPA or CCIFP exam within the past 12 months. 4. The applicant must have received the certificate prior to the scholarship application date. 5. Certificates will be $500 unless the Board votes to change that amount.
