Climb into our magic plane….. Buckle your seat belt on your chair now!

Why do clouds look so different?

It’s starting to get stormy.

Part 1 field trip ends…. Teacher lead Student Activity Cloud Art Read the book, It Looked Like Spilt Milk, we clip cotton balls in clothespins, dip them in white paint, and use them to paint clouds onto blue paper. The children paint their clouds to resemble other shapes, such as a dog, castle, horse, etc. Each page says: “It looked like ________.”

Part 2 Let’s climb into our magic plane….. Buckle your seat belt on your chair now! As you look out your window, what do you think we will see?

Yes, the storm is over, look what is in the sky? A Rainbow

We can use a prism to watch the light turn into rainbow.

Let’s make our own rainbow Rainbows We will use markers to draw colored arcs on half of a coffee filter, paint over the filter with the water, and watch the colors blend together. Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet

On your journal page, write a sentence about rainbows.

Part 3 It’s time to climb back into our magic plane…..Buckle your seat belt on your chair now! We are flying high above the clouds. What do you think we see?

The Sun The sun is so bright in the sky! Let’s read a story about day and night. Choose audio and the story will be read to you!

Our Star……The Sun

Let’s make our own Sun You will tear yellow and orange tissue paper. Glue the tiny pieces onto the paper plate to create your own sun. You can make your sun with tissue paper around and inside your sun.

Part 4 It’s our last day to climb into our magic plane….. Buckle your seat belt on your chair now! We will be flying very high in the sky!

It’s time to put on a space helmet. We will be traveling out of Earth’s atmosphere so we will use the helmet so we can breath air.

As we travel up in our magic plane, what do you see high sky?

Our Moon Videos The Sky Above: A First Look- Click 01:4802:26)

Watch our first astronaut walking on the moon.

It’s time for us travel back to Earth. As we look out in space, we can see many galaxies. Galaxies are made up of many stars like our sun!
