Kinds of Literary Writing 1. Narrative Writing 2. Descriptive Writing 3. Perscriptive Writing 4. Expository Writing

1. Narrative Writing It is a text that tells a story of a person, or an event or events that have happened, especially in a novel such as `` Oliver Twist`` by Charles Dickens. Sometimes events that we need to remember. A narrative text usually has a main character. The style of writing is usually artistic.

2. Descriptive Writing It is used to help a reader create a mental picture. Descriptive writing usually focuses on locations, items, inventions or people. A reader reads in this type of writing words of colors, sounds and smells. It can be a piece of a large work. It sometimes describes how something works or how people do things without implying judgment of the rightness or wrongness. It is generally written in the third person.

3. Prescriptive Writing It explains to a reader how to do things. It prescribes rules for a person, and what is correct and what is wrong.

4. Expository Writing It often has a neutral tone, such as would find in a newspaper article.
