America’s Complete College Georgia Mandate The United States will require that more individuals complete some form of higher education that leads to a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Complete College America’s goal is that by 2020, 60 percent of young adults will hold a college certificate or degree. Dr. Kokila Ravi and Dr. Bonita Flournoy NCWE October 30, 2014

Complete College Georgia Initiative In Georgia, over 60 percent of the jobs in the future will require individuals with college degrees. Currently in Georgia, only 42 percent of young adults have these degrees, and if the state continues on its current path this percentage will not change much by the year 2020.To remain competitive, Georgia must not only maintain current graduation levels, but also produce an additional estimated 250,000 graduates in upcoming years. Too many Georgia students take courses they do not need and that do not count toward their degree. A study conducted by Complete College America shows that Georgia students and taxpayers spend more than $126 million each year for excess college credits. Dr. Kokila Ravi and Dr. Bonita Flournoy NCWE October 30, 2014
