LONDON London, the capital city of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. London is the city with a lot of interesting places to visit. London is the city where more than 8 million people live (including Her Majesty Elisabeth the 2nd), but you can still be yourself there. London is the city where a lot of people go there just to feel the atmosphere of this place. London is the place which I want to visit again someday. London is the city of dreams.

Red telephone box and double-decker bus This is something that probably everybody see in their minds when someone says London. Two of lots of London‘s symbols. (Both in red of course, the bus picture has been taken with effect.)

The London Eye Also one of the most famous London‘s sights. My thoughts: I swear that the ride on the London Eye was amazing! Even when I was afraid a bit before, I absolutely enjoyed it and I can tell you that if you go to London, you definitely have to try it! The view down from the top is amazing!

The Palace of Westminster The Palace of Westminster known as „Big Ben“ (Big Ben is just the bell) is in almost every picture of London. This tower is called „Clock Tower“ and these buildings „The Houses of Parliament“

Buckingham Palace This is the Queen´s home and I swear that when you are close to this place you can feel that atmosphere.

Warner Bros Studio This is a place where you can find all of these things that have been used in Harry Potter films! This was probably the best place that we visited! I was such in love with this place! Everything looks so real – I mean werewolf, train… everything! A big thanks to that person who got an idea of making this „museum“.

Tower Bridge There is a lot of bridges over the river Thames. But this one is special. I think that this is the coolest and photogenic bridge over the world. To be serious now. How can the bridge be so beautiful? God bless that architect (sir Horace Jones) for his master piece! It looks so symmetric and I swear that you have to see it live to realize that it is more beautiful in real than in pictures .

Royal observatory - Greenwich The place where you can find „the prime meridian“ it‘s a bit funny to stand on it. Also the place with „the one and only“ right time. The King Charles II. was the one who made it.

My few facts In London on crosswalks is written „look right“ or „look left“ The London underground is full of people and you almost can‘t even breath there A lot of bus stops are turned around (by back to road) People there are so nice –for example they say „sorry“ to you even when it was your mistake etc. even bin dusts have special design too – on almost every of them is written „litter“ and they are still at the same style Okay, this was perhaps something not interesting that I noticed in London by myself. There are, of course, more other things worth seeing, but this is just which I have found on my mind right now.

THE END I also want to say what our trip to London has given to me. I have found that it´s an amazing place and that I´m able to speak to people in English and also understand them. But what I think that is the most important (okay, for me it is) I have found that your friends can also be your family and when you are with them somewhere it will make you happy. So thanks to my 2nd family and London for beautiful memories, I will remember that happy moments forever. Photos by Kateřina Pilníková, Hana Bakiu, Šárka Pilná Kateřina Pilníková VII.B
