5  Electromagnetic Novel 3D input system (3DMI-HOPE) that allows users to intuitively specify three-dimensional (3D) coordinates in space and save it in digital memory. ◦ Building a 3D input pointer that allows the reconstruction of 3D image in space  The proposed device utilized an electromagnetic technology(microwave holography) for recording the image in high accuracy without any assistive tools.  3D graphics hardware and rendering systems capable of offering applications in truly 3D interactive. What is the technology?

 Design and manufacture of the laboratory prototype of a microwave 3D input device that is capable of capture 3D coordinates of points in the reconstruction space and save it in digital memory.  Investigate, design, analyze, fabricate and measurement of new shapes of compact smart MIMO antenna array hologram recording process.  Design and test the real time reconstruction of a recorded object hologram for real time applications.  Design and test the innovative 3DMI-HOPE editing accuracy at standards operational frequencies of communications at Bluetooth ISM band and b WLAN standard. 6 What does the technology do? September 9, 2010

 The applications for a 3D input device ranges over the: ◦ non-immersive VR systems as in new user interface, web browsers, computer- aided design and manufacture, ◦ computer simulation, ◦ tele-robotics, ◦ aerospace, ◦ education and training, ◦ scientific data visualization, and ◦ medical industry.  This output 3D MI-HOPE prototype will have impact on different fields of science as mainly in: ◦ telemedicine and tele-robotics where entering, storing, sending and manipulating 3D data information with proper accuracy rendering important assistance. 7

1. 3D MI-HOPE is a verified Concept only System sub-components are in rough prototypes but not integrated together: 1. MIMO smart microstrip antenna array system 2. System hardware construction 3. Software/hardware of ray-tracing reconstruction Project development status 1. System integration (system hardware and software) chip 2. Laboratory prototype (packaging), Testing and comparison with simulated results 3. Re-engineering and calibration procedures for proper accuracy and Industrial prototype suggestion. 8
