Guide: Setting up your Virtual Giving Tree on the Classy Platform Back-to-School 2015

Classy Virtual Giving Trees To create your virtual giving tree go to: https://fundraise.familygivingtree.org/events/2015-back-to-school-drive/e49980 , and select “Become a Fundraiser”

Classy Virtual Giving Trees To create a virtual giving tree on the Classy platform, the drive leader will need to make an account within Classy. You can either make an account by signing into your Facebook account or by signing up with your email address. This will act as your individual fundraising page with an opportunity to create your group’s page later.

Classy Virtual Giving Trees Step 2: Fill in a Fundraising Goal for your individual page. Note that you do not have to use this page. It needs to be created in order to create your group’s page. Step 1: Fill in your Page Title. Suggestion: <Your name> 2015 Back-to-School Drive Step 3: Create a Custom URL for your page. Example: yournamebacktoschooldriveNote: this URL may only contain letters

Classy Virtual Giving Trees As the drive leader, your individual page has been created and will look similar to this page. You will now need to create a team page for your group. Select “Create Team”.

Classy Virtual Giving Trees Step 1: Fill in your Team Name. This will be your group’s name. Step 2: Fill in a realistic Fundraising Goal for your group. If you would like to know how much money was raised online during last year ‘s drive, please contact Katie at katie@familygivingtree.org

Classy Virtual Giving Trees Your group’s page will look like this. It is now time to customize your group’s virtual giving tree. The thermometer tracks your group’s progress, so you always know how much you have raised online! Click the “Edit Team” button

Classy Virtual Giving Trees You will be able to upload your group’s logo from here. Just click the green “Upload” button. Note: Please upload a JPG, GIF, or PNG file. Ideal size is 315x210 pixels. You can upload any videos or pictures you may have of your group participating in Family Giving Tree’s Back-to-School Drive!

Classy Virtual Giving Trees You can further personalize your page by adding text, photos or videos to tell individuals why your group supports Family Giving Tree’s Back-to-School Drive. Note: this section will show up under the embedded video on your group’s page. When finished personalizing your group’s page click “Update Page” to finish

Classy Virtual Giving Trees To view donations, comments by donors, or fundraiser and donor reports, click on the Team Activity tab The most helpful report for drive leaders will be the donor report. This includes a list of all supporters that have donated to your group page. You will be able to download the list into Excel. It can be a great tool to remind supporters to submit their matching gift requests! From here you can click on the various reports to view them.

Classy Virtual Giving Trees Lastly, share this page with your supporters via email, Twitter or Facebook. You can import email contacts using Gmail or Yahoo accounts, or you can simply share your group’s link via a personal email as well. Just copy and paste your link.
