 An example of Purposeful Racism would be in the Arizona Law number SB1070 called the “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act ”.  This Law allows Arizona State Police Officers to detain any suspicicous looking characters.  Officers may even detain legal citizens because of their ethnic background.  Another example of Purposeful Racism can be found in Airports.

 Since the attacks on the United States soil on September the 11 th, 2001, security in airports has risen exponentially.  Most common airport screenings include walking through metal detectors, placing baggage through screening, and taking the shoes off.  If TSA officials suspect anything out of the ordinary, they are free to have a same gender to gender pat down, or a hand -wanding which is a private screening.

 Accidental Racism occurs almost everyday in our lives.  An example of accidental racism could occur when you are walking down a sidewalk, and see an african-american man who looks suspicious, your initial instinct would be to avoid contact and sometimes cross the street to the other sidewalk.  A recent example of accidental racism would be the Trevon Martin murder case.

 On the night of February 26 th, George Zimmerman was on the local neighborhood patrol when he spotted a teenager walking after dark and looked supicious, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, so he called the police.  Zimmerman than decided to follow the teenage male against the will of the 911 dispatcher.  Zimmerman than fatally shot the teenager in the chest.  What happened inbetween is still unknown, but many believe this was a racial profiling case against young african-american males.  Although, Zimmerman is not a white male but of a minority group.

 Racial Profiling is still strong in the world. As it was not long ago slavery was abolished in the world with the last country in 1981 with Mauritania.  A thought we want you all to think about is that the TSA ( Transportation Security Administration) has just recently on April 4, 2012, started a “ pre- check” security system at New York’s LaGuardia for those who qualify.  Will ethnicity be a requirement?
