The Adventures of Aeneas By: Abby Smith, Leslie Keesling, and Cierra Berry

Aeneas’ “I Have A Dream”  Aeneas is told that he is destined to sail to Hesperia and start a city  On his voyage he encounters and battles the Harpies. Then Aeneas and his crew are forced to escape when they are unable defeat Harpies.

His Journey  Aeneas and his crew encounter Helenus She tells them to land on the western coast of Italy to avoid any trouble, the islands of Scylla and Charybdis.

Journeys cont  Aeneas is unaware of all of the dangers along the route. They land on the Island of the Cyclopes and are attacked by Polyphemus.

Encounter with Juno  She learns that Aeneas is planning to start a city that will eventually destroy Carthage.  In response, Juno has Aeolus, the King of Winds stir up a huge storm to destroy the Aeneas and his crew The storm blows them to Carthage, Africa

Anchises Advice  Before reaching Italy Helenus tells Aeneas to find the Sibyl of Cumae  Then the Sibyl tells him that they must go to the underworld to his father, Anchises. Anchises

Anchises Advice cont  A mystical golden bough is their ticket in, Venus leads them to it  They encounter Anchises where he gives advice on how to start his new home.

Aeneas’ Journey  Aeneas and his crew sail up the Italian coast Welcomed by Latinus, King of Latins  He wants his daughter Lavinia to marry Aeneas  The Latins and Rutulians join together against Aeneas
