Research Problem – difficulties with a human resource management in Finnish companies which starts business in Russia. The Object of the Research – small Finnish and Russian companies involved in construction market The Subject of the Research - existing HRM models in small companies with Finnish or Russian roots and the most effective parts of these HRM models. The Main Goal of the Research is to reveal the most dramatic differences between Russian and Finnish approach to human resources management (HRM) and after that to design the model of HRM which could content the best ideas from the Russian practice plus groundwork from the Finnish experience which may be adapted successfully for a job in Russia. The Model of Human Resource Management – the Russian and the Finnish experience, E. Dmitrienko, SPb Hypotheses There are sufficient differences in HRM in the Russian and in the Finnish constructive companies, which can be revealed and summarized in one HRM model. Companies with HRM models adapted to the exact country are more successful than companies without special adaptation of HR models.

The Model of Human Resource Management – the Russian and the Finnish experience, E. Dmitrienko, SPb Research methods and sampling The study needs minimum 30 organizations (small Finnish and Russian construction companies) for investigation. Research methods: Collecting companies’ profiles, using Internet, open publications, materials, provided by the companies. Semi-formalized interviews with top-managers of the companies. Questionnaire inquiry of HR managers in the companies.
